Ok, I’m definitely getting Guild Wars 2 tomorrow! I finally found somewhere where it’s in stock (PC World) so I’ve reserved a copy for both myself and my brother to collect in-store tomorrow. I’m not ashamed of the happy feeling I have now knowing the game will be mine tomorrow!

I’ve just cancelled my RIFT sibscription as well, it feels really bad leaving a game which you’ve spent a lot of time playing, but I can’t really afford it anymore and… Guild Wars 2.

The game shop where I ordered Guild Wars 2 from called me today, their stockist is out of stock and won’t get any in until monday at the earliest. I was more upset than I dare to admit.

I’ve finally started my summer project, after building up the courage to actually do something instead of thinking about it and being scared to start. Once I get started things will be a lot easier, it’s the beginning which is the hardest part for me.

Although in my summer project brief the tutors recommended an A4 sketchbook, I’ve decided to use the A2 one that’s been lying around for a while. Since I’ve been working larger I can’t go back to small sketchbooks/paper anymore.

I’m in love with this Pre-Raphaelite blog if anyone is into them.
She’s a proper art historian who really knows her stuff, and I’ve spent the last couple of weeks reading every single post. She’s single-handedly re-kindled my love for the Pre-Raphaelites.
Thank you for posting this! I’ve only read a few of the posts and they’ve all been brilliant.
I’ve decided to move my easel up into my bedroom, it actually fits quite nicely! Whehther it’ll be functional is another matter, but I’ll give it a try. Most of my supplies are up here, and I feel self conscious in the living room so hopefully this will work out better.

I made toasted marshmallows using the hob on the oven earlier… a slightly unconventional way but it does the same thing as a fire. It’s just what I needed, some sweet, gooey marshmalloey goodness.
We’ve just spent about an hour trying (unsuccessfully) to find out what’s wrong with the main fuse board for our house. For some reason one of the fuses isn’t tripping when it overloads, so its just burning and its somehow affecting the light fuse to the house as well. The panel felt really warm and was making worrying crackling sounds when I tried to turn the switch for the...

So today is the official release of Guild Wars 2. My brother and I were hoping to be playing the game right now… but because of our sister racking up a £300 phone bill we’re having to wait until friday (brothers pay-day). We aren’t impressed with her at the moment…
I seriously cannot wait to play this game. I’ve been waiting 5 years since they announced it, and it’s finally here! Guild Wars was...
My mum borrowed my phone to call Vodafone customer services, and now I’ve been charged an extra £5 on my phone bill for the next month… I didn’t realise they could charge you for calling customer services. Then again, it is Vodafone.
Don’t lose heart if it’s very difficult at times, everything will come out all...

The fire alarm in my room is running out of battery, as it keeps making this extremely loud high pitched noise which kept me awake most of the night. I just can’t reach it to change the battery.

Tonight is horrible, I’ve got no chance of sleeping for at least another hour and it’s already 2:10 am. My sister has her boyfriend and one of his friends here and they’re arguing with somebody over the phone loudly. I’m trying to correct my sleeping pattern, not make it worse!

I am often asked how I am able to get so much done so quickly when I draw and paint. I have a simple formula for “speed” in terms of working from life.
Speed = Accuracy + Efficiency
Accuracy is something you train to achieve by drawing, and specifically by doing exercises that train your accuracy. That can be a different post for later.
What about efficiency? This is something that...

I can’t sleep, this is going to be a long night!
I’ve been able to smell a slight hint of gas all day whenever I’ve been in the kitchen. I was in there getting a drink just now, and saw one of the hob dials had been knocked slightly, so that explains the smell.

Today has been rather productive! I’ve tidied and cleaned my room, I’ve rehoused the piles of art books (in my art cupboard under my bed) and put back the other books on my shelves and reoganised some of my supplies. The little side table/cupboard next to my computer fell apart when i tried to move it, so I had to take everything out of it and put it back together; two joints at the...

Something I need to start doing.
There’s 5 doughnuts left from a tray of 12 my mum bought a couple of days ago, and they’re going to start going stale very soon so my mum’s asked if we’ll eat them. My sister doesn’t want any and my brother’s out… it looks like I’ll have to take care of this.

I really need to kick myself into gear and start my summer project now. I’ve been putting it off for a while now with no real reason, I’ll admit I’m scared to start it incase it goes wrong, and procrastination certainly hasn;t helped. I think I need to stop thinking about it so much and just start drawing, or painting or something creative to start it off.

I normally don’t do this, but since Slow Art Day made it onto the Radar tonight, now is a good as time as any to tell you guys about this incredible nonprofit organization that I’m interning for.
One day each year (April 27 in 2013) people all over the world visit local museums and galleries to look at art slowly. Participants look at five works of art for 10 minutes each and then...
